Foil Squares
*Artist Statement*
I named this work "Before the Winter Hits", because it demonstrates the happiness of fall for me. This was such a fun assignment to do, even if I had a harder time with it than I did with the others. The purpose of this assignment was to create an organic shape using different textures. You created the shape with a texture on a carboard square, then spread aluminum foil of the top of it. After pushing down the foil over the raised texture, the shape will show through! And then other textures need to be added to the putside of the picture as well. I chose to do a tree with the the fall leaves for my organic object, and I made the original texture by tracing the shape out with elmers glue. I also decided to color it, to get the idea of colorful amd happiness across. I also made different textures in the trunk and the swirls of the wind using a tootpick and scratching it into the foil. I am very happy with this project as a whole, and I cannot wait to use it in a future classroom!
